Any one play Grand Theft auto Multiplayer?

I played SA-MP for a while with some other RF friends. I want to try it again because SA-MP 0.3 came out. Let me know if you're interested.

Offhand, do you know if the scripting has changed at all from 0.2x-0.3?

Yes, in 0.3 it has totally new scripts, although it is still in its beta form, you guys can download it Here. I am normally in the "Sandandreas cops and robbers" server using the name "Hawkseye" so if you guys want to meet up some time then that would be cool, just post the name you will be using.

What I'm hoping is that my modified version of Brains' Freeroam will work.

Ok , I really will like to get SA for the pc since my ps2 and all my game systems got stolen . Is there anything I should look for ? If I buy this game used would the cd key still work? How much ram would this game use , sadly I only got a gig now 2ghz x2 amd processor and nvidea 8500 would my system run it ?

It should run fine on that system. My friend runs it on his pretty old system (2.4ghz P4, 512MB ram, ATI Radeon 9600) just fine.

There's no cd key, and the online really isn't locked because it's a 3rd party mod. People on pirated copies are able to play just fine. If you're buying it retail, the only thing to look out for is to try to get the V1.00. I'm pretty sure all the retail released ones are V1.00, but if not, there's a downpatch guide [here].

Get game -> install game -> apply no-cd crack (convenience) -> download and install the multiplayer mod from http://www.sa-mp.com -> play!

(Also apparently the Steam and Direct2Drive versions WILL NOT work.)

Sure, but eh.. You need to higher your ping limit to about 1300 and set a warning system for high ping instead of kicking first thing. because when most people join, there ping is going to be around 900 at least for the first few seconds, so when this is the case.. they get kicked instantly.

also I would like to play too >.< (Ping limit keeps kicking me)

Yeah, the ping kick is actually a feature of the one filterscript we use (XtremeAdmin2). I want to just turn it off completely but until I found out how to, I've set it to 9999
