Lol, core i7? It would be nice to have one, but i cant afford one. I'm more for amd Quad cores if ya ask me though lol. I like the amount of video ram i have. Its enough to play left for dead one and two so i play allot of them. Especially combat arms.

I'm considering actually skipping the i7, waiting until my current build is really old and slow, and then doing a really big upgrade. Feels better Very Happy

Well, that is a fine idea i think, why upgrade continuesly, and have no fun. When in ten years of four or five it doesnt matter, you can all of the sudden get everything up to date at once, and have fun doing it? Then you can marvel at your work. lol

Like me, i don't upgrade i over clock, my little mess around computer is a celeron D overclocked to 3.50 GHZ with all stock cooling fans and heat sinks lol. Not this lpaopt though, this one is the specs provided up at the top lol. I will never overclock it...anyways, it cant be lol.

New Rig I just built in december for less than $500.

Windows 7 64
Amd Phenom II X4 955 (3.2ghz stock) - currently over clocked to 3.4ghz
Asus M4A785-M motherboard
4 gigs G Skill 800mhz DDR2 in dual channel mode.
HIS Radeon HD 4850 512meg ddr3 video card (Borrowed from HTPC for now)
Western Digital 10K rpm Raptor hard drive. (reused from old desktop)
CoolerMaster Storm Scout Case - Wicked bad!
28" HannsG LCD (bought back in october after my 24" lcd was stolen!)
I am extremely happy with the performance of this pc. It starts up very fast and loads RF and left4dead 2 fast at highest detail settings.
I want to replace the raptor hard drive with an Intel x25M SSD drive soon!

Originally I was going to build a Core I7 based PC with at least 6 gigs of triple channel DDR3 memory and a sick video card but all that would have cost well over $1000.
AMD rocks!
cheers

Oh yeah, your overclock, top 3.50 ghz then come back to me lol. Thats my highest overclock ever! WOOT WOOT lol but REALLY nice system you've got there man. AMD can make some bad ass processors and ATI video cards. I personally like my video card it is the equivelant of an nvidea ge force something or another lol.
My video card is an updated version of an old card though. The old one could only have 512 MB of ram shared and dedicated. Mine can have up to 256 Dedicated and 2 GB shared and dedicated combined. lol gotta love it when you can share RAM with your video card, boost that RAM up, and you could get some descent performance out of it. My laptop wasn't designed to run games, but it does it fine. left for dead on all medium. fallout 3 on low or medium. But that's only because of driver issues, once i fix that up, it'll be running on ultra before ya know it lol.
